Today when I was leaving work, on the mall speaker sysem I heard "Eternal Flame", one my many favorites from The Bangles. It took me back to the day. This song must have been popular around 1987-88, because I remember being 4 or 5 and everyday on the way to preschool (well almost everyday) it would come on the radio and my mother and I would sing along to it at the top of our lungs. One of our many rituatls throughout the past 25 years.

Then I started thinking about the road trip we took to Tennessee when I was probably about 9 or 10. The only tape i had with me was the Bangles album "Everything". I listened to that tape (yes, tape...remember those? lol) on my Walkman about 25 times on that trip. I had all the songs memorized and I was in love. It may have been my first lesbian experience. At some point in Tennessee I bought a new troll to add to my troll collection. It had a Bengels shirt on....as in the football team, but I thought Eh close enough! And it had orange hair, sweet huh?

Speaking of the Tennessee trip, that was around the time when Achy Breaky Heart by Billy Ray Cyrus was popular. I remember hearing that song constantly, and I also remember that all over the place they were selling these one piece outfits. It was like shorts and a t-shirt, but one piece, with fringes on the ends of the sleeves and the legs, with beads attatched. I wanted one of those so bad. Not to be ironic, but because I actually thought they were stylish. Now I wish I had gotten one just because they were so awesomely bad!

Ahh memories. I guess the moral of the story is; It's nice to know that I was so random, even as a child! And even though the bangles were very influential sex symbols, I'm not a lesbian.
